A microstrip line with width 3 mm, substrate height 1.6 mm, conductor thickness 0.035 mm and relative permittivity 4.4 has about 50.2 ohm impedance. Enter your geometry to calculate impedance, effective permittivity and a width for a target impedance.

What Pro produces

Batch runs over a table of inputs, a PDF report with inputs, method and citations, CSV export and saved cases. Join the waiting list and we will write once, when it opens.

Connector tool: microstrip_impedance

Example: What is the impedance of a 3 mm microstrip on a 1.6 mm substrate with er 4.4 and 0.035 mm conductor thickness?

About the connector

Wheeler (1977) synthesis numerically inverts his zero-thickness expression. Its width is approximate for this model; the separate thickness-corrected H-J target width solves Z0(w)=Ztarget.
