Energy what the site’s power costs, and what to cut
The year’s electricity from the Plan’s own model, who pays for it, and each saving lever priced on the same numbers.

The Plan’s engines on your inputs; engineering estimates, not a guarantee.
Modelled annual PUE
One plus electrical losses (by UPS redundancy), fans and pumps, compressor energy and lighting. Compressors run for the hours of the year the market’s hourly climate (2016 to 2025) is too warm for free cooling with your heat rejection, at a coefficient of performance of 3.5 for air-cooled chillers and 5.5 for water-cooled chillers with towers; liquid-cooled racks need trim only above 27 °C, at 6. A metered PUE replaces the model and keeps each lever’s modelled change. What it does not do: it holds the PUE at any occupancy, as if UPS and fan losses fell with the load, so a half-empty site runs higher than shown; the idle draw of unsold capacity covers only part of that.
The bill
Contracted kW × average IT load × PUE × 8,760 hours, plus the idle draw of unsold capacity, at your all-in price. It is the Plan’s energy line in a stabilised year: the same inputs give the same figure there.
Who pays
Metered at cost: customers pay their share of facility energy, so an efficiency saving is theirs. A contracted PUE or power in the rent: the operator pays the bill and keeps what the levers save.
The levers
Run in a fixed order, each on the result of the ones before: liquid cooling, supply air set-point (thresholds move up, chillers gain 3% per K, server fans draw 1.5% more per K of inlet above 25 °C, set-point capped at 27 °C), UPS eco-mode (60% of electrical losses for the hours it runs), a contract price, then heat sold: the share of the IT heat the network takes over a year (40% unless you set it), net of the heat pumps’ electricity, the same rule as the Plan’s heat line.
Price benchmark
Premium shows the Eurostat price for the site’s consumption band in its country, excluding VAT and recoverable levies, with its low and high over the last three half-years. Sites running more than 7,000 hours a year often pay reduced network charges the band does not show. See Premium
