European Data Centre Pipeline: Projects Announced and Under Construction
Data-centre projects of 5 MW or more announced, in planning, permitted or under construction across the EU, the UK, Norway and Switzerland, each with its stated capacity, stage and source.
Which data-centre campuses are coming to Europe, how large are they, and how far along is each one? Every row gives the capacity in the terms its source uses, the latest public milestone and a link to where it was published. Pair it with the five-market comparison for power prices and carbon, and the siting cost tool for a specific location.
- 358 projects across 30 markets in 23 countries: 115 announced, 83 in planning, 66 permitted, 5 contractor appointed, 81 under construction, 8 structure complete.
- By region: Western Europe 176; Nordic countries 72; Southern Europe 88; Central and Eastern Europe 22.
- 82 projects state 200 MW or more; 42 of them are in Western Europe.
- The largest stated figure is Campus AI, Fouju at 1,400 MW (final substation power).
- 116 projects publish no capacity figure.
- Capacity is quoted on the basis each source gives (IT load, campus power, grid connection), so the figures are not added together.
Projects by market
Every market also has its own page with the grid, power prices, climate, latency and rules: data-centre markets in Europe.

How the tracker is built
Data-centre projects in the FLAP-D markets (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin) and the Nordic countries that are announced, in planning, permitted or under construction. One row per project or campus. Every row states the latest public milestone found and the source it comes from. Capacity is quoted as the source states it, with its basis (IT load, campus power, grid connection), so figures on different bases are never added together. Facts only: no ratings or rankings of operators or sites. Projects of 5 MW or more, or with no capacity published, with a public milestone since January 2024 that are not yet fully operational. Projects whose status is publicly disputed are held until a primary record settles it.
- Announced
- Plan published by the developer; no permit or construction start found.
- In planning
- Zoning, permit application or council process under way.
- Permitted
- Planning permission, a resolution to grant, or a site permitted for data-centre use.
- Contractor appointed
- Main works contract awarded; construction start not yet confirmed.
- Under construction
- Ground broken or preparatory works started.
- Structure complete
- Building structure complete (topped out); not yet in service.
Each row names the latest public milestone we found and links to where it was published: the developer's own release where one exists, otherwise the planning authority or the trade press that reported it. Projects under way are rechecked every month and announced projects every quarter; each row shows the date it was last checked, and a row that misses its recheck is marked as pending until it is checked again.
