Method and sources

The pipeline covers data-centre projects of 5 MW or more, or with no capacity published, that are announced, in planning, permitted or under construction and not yet fully operating. It is not a list of operating facilities. A metro market follows the tracker’s own market field, so it includes the region around the city; a country page covers every tracked project in the country.

  • Projects: the developer’s own release where one exists, otherwise the planning authority or the trade press; each row links the source of its latest milestone, and the tracker lists every source.
  • Latest hour: Energy-Charts, Fraunhofer ISE (CC BY 4.0).
  • Ember, European Wholesale Electricity Price Data (monthly), 2025.
  • Ember, Yearly Electricity Data, 2025.
  • Eurostat, Electricity prices components for non-household consumers (nrg_pc_205_c), 2025.
  • Eurostat, Cooling and heating degree days by country (nrg_chdd_a).
  • Climate: ERA5 (Copernicus Climate Change Service), DOI 10.24381/cds.adbb2d47.
  • Latency: hub coordinates from Wikidata; route lengths derived from the ITU transmission map.
