Grid signal API for compute schedulers
When will power in Europe be cleanest and cheapest over the next 48 hours, market by market, in a form a scheduler can call? We run that data for the live grid dashboard. We are testing whether teams would pay for it as a keyed API.
You can see the same numbers today on the live grid, free, for 15 European markets.
What the signal would contain
Carbon intensity
A production-based estimate per market and hour: each fuel’s output times a lifecycle emission factor, divided by total output. Imports are not included. Hours ahead are estimated from the renewable-share forecast and flagged as forecast.
Day-ahead price
Euro per MWh for the hours already auctioned, in every market we cover, with attribution to the data providers named below.
Cleanest and cheapest window
For a job that needs a given number of hours, the start time that minimises carbon or cost inside the next 48 hours.
A live sample
Pick a market. These are today’s numbers from the live grid feed, in the shape a call would return.

Who it is for
- AI labs and platform teams that queue training or batch inference and can start it when power is cleaner or cheaper.
- HPC centres whose job scheduler could take an hourly grid signal as an input.
- Colocation and enterprise operators who need an hourly carbon figure for their own reporting and dashboards.
Proposed tiers
Signal
Three markets of your choice. Hourly carbon and price series for the next 48 hours and the past 7 days. One key, JSON over HTTPS.
Join the waiting listFleet
All markets we cover. Twelve months of history, the cleanest and cheapest window endpoint, webhooks when a threshold is crossed, an embeddable panel for your own site or intranet without ScienceShot branding (data-provider credits stay), and commercial use terms in writing.
Join the waiting listStatus: waiting list only. The API does not exist yet and nothing is for sale. No payment is taken and joining commits neither side. The prices and contents are proposals we want to test.
Day-ahead prices are cleared for this use in the markets we cover. Carbon intensity is built from ENTSO-E generation data, and ENTSO-E has not yet confirmed its reuse terms for a paid product. The first release could start with prices and add carbon once that is settled. We will not charge for anything the licence does not allow.
The buttons open an email to the ScienceShot editorial team with six short questions already written. We use your reply to decide whether to build the API and to write to you about it, and we publish only aggregate counts. This page stores nothing. If neither price fits, tell us what would.
